Seth Fluker is a self-trained photographer. His interest in photography developed in combination with relationships with his friends, skateboarding, travel and all of the interstitial moments between events. Seth is now living in London, seeing what you're not seeing.

Who or what along the way played a significant role in shaping / motivating your practice?
Skateboarding has played a massive role with my development because it has helped me look at the world with a different perspective.
The images you produce suggest that you work spontaneously. Is that an inaccurate assumption or do you have a specific formula to facilitate your process?
I shoot spontaneously in the sense that nothing is planned or staged
and I have to be quick to get the result I want when working with
natural light. Though I’m constantly observing my surroundings
sometimes I wont take a photograph for a few weeks.

You've lived in several places spread over the globe now, and also traveled to many others. Do you intend to maintain a sort of drifter lifestyle, or can you see yourself finding the right place to stay for a while?
I have no idea where I am going to live next, I enjoy London and plan on living here until my visa expires in September 2010.
What captivates you to stay in one place?
Inspiring surroundings, good food, family and friends.

How much does film cost in London?
It depends. Sometimes I work with slide film and it’s 5 Pounds per roll and 4 Pounds to develop. I stocked up on colour negative film in Vancouver but to get a roll processed on a 3 hour service costs 6 pounds.
What would be your ideal day in London?
It would consist of a good English breakfast, checking out book shops or some exhibitions, a couple cans in the park with friends, dinner made by Britt, a pint or two at a pub then a good night sleep with a fucked up dream!

What importance does music have in your daily life?
Lately Jeremy Jay, Gang Gang Dance, The Organ, The Smiths and Dr. Dre have been on repeat.
How would one get wasted in London for 20$?
If you're on a budget, I recommend getting 12 tall cans for 10 pounds at your local off license.
What cameras do you use?
Nikon FG, Nikon F4, Contax T3

How do you like showing in galleries?
I love showing my work in galleries, I like the whole process from start to finish.
If you could work collaboratively with anyone tomorrow, dead or alive, who would it be?
John Lennon for so many reasons.
