Melinda Santillan
Melinda Santillan is a Mexican-Canadian artist that is rebellious in nature as she is in dressing. Not only does Melinda show us her favorite pieces of clothing from her closet, but she also worked on our fashion collage called 'Giddy Up' for this issue. Check out her many talents- whether it's the art of fashion or the art of arts- we can't stop wanting more.

Why she likes..I can wear this t-shirt for days on end. I love how its black in the back and white in the front. Its super thin and baggy and of course the cat lady in me couldn't resist...

Why she likes...My friend Anna brought this back for me from paris. I love it because its the perfect size to put everything and the pink reminds me of her house which is almost all the same color.

Why she likes...I bought this at my friend Rafa's garage sale in Mexico. Its the perfect faded black with holes in all the right places and it makes me think of him and all our great flea market hunts.

Why she likes...This skirt is like a collector's piece for me, because of all the intricate work with the zippers. It was so special I could never think of anywhere to wear it so finally i wore it one night to go eat poutine on a bench at Carre St.Louis in Montreal.

Why she likes: I had a picture of this bracelet on my computer for a long time and finally I found it at a flea market.
Image six: Grandma's ring
Why she likes...I love this because my grandma wore it at my baptism and I've had my eye on it since I can remember. I used to take it out my mom's jewelry box and play with it. Finally a few years ago I felt old enough to wear it and I haven't taken off since.

Why she likes...Just when I thought you couldn't find good vintage boots anymore, I came across these. They are everything I wanted in flat boots and I love how they go over the knee.

Why she likes...I got this blazer made after a little boy tuxedo blazer i found at a market. I wear this with absolutely everything i own.
Image nine: APC metallic sweatshirt
Why she likes... This sweatshirt is the best because it reminds me of an old gym outfit from the 80's but it has a delicate metallic finish to it. Sometimes I wear it inside out too..
Image ten: Don Sayers for Wellmore Saks Fifth Avenue dress
Why she likes... This dress is my favorite, its knitted and has a princess waist. Its actually super long but i fold it to make it mini. I love the sequined details and the tag that looks like its 100 years old. It makes me think of times where stuff was meant to last a lifetime.

Why she likes...I got these made for me and they fit me perfect. I would get all my clothes made to measure if I could.
